2011

Your postcard on New Year’s Eve

We are almost three months into the A Postcard A Day app, and it’s been brilliant so far. We have over 2500 subscribers on the iStore alone. (Don’t forget it’s also available for Blackberry and Android devices).

The collection of images illustrate such new and fresh takes on SA’s smallest but most powerful province. We would love you to be part of it.

What does 2011’s final postcard from Gauteng look like? We’re running a competition to find out. The winner gets a night in the Love Jozi room at 12 Decades Hotel, and R1000 to spend on any Love Jozi products or t-shirts in either of our two stores. Amazing prize! (And of course their Postcard gets used on the app on 31.12.11)

The judges will be announced on Facebook and Twitter shortly. Deadline for submissions is Tuesday 13 December 2011 at midnight. (SA time)

Sale Time

It’s t-shirt weather time again! (Well in Joburg, anyway.)

It’s also time to clear our shops for new summer stock. So we’re offering 25% off the-online-range and a full 50% off the TheCityBoyRange.

That means t-shirts start at R60!

The prices online include the discount.

The Online Range

To celebrate the launch of LoveJozi’s online store, we themed the new range around our virtual world.

All the models were cast online. We sent out a tweet and a fan-page message that read something like this: “Do you want to model for LoveJozi? Do you live in Johannesburg? Do you look good in a t-shirt?” Whoever answered “Yes” to those three questions arrived on a photoshoot a couple of weeks later in Mountainview, Johannesburg. For a change we moved away from our downtown locations and embraced Johannesburg suburbia.

Brett Rubin was the photographer and Andrew Chandler art directed. The shoot was such fun, see the pics below for some clues as to how we got our on-line models to hang on the line…

PS It’s amazing how many times we get mentioned on Twitter. Well, not only us, but a Love for Jozi gets expressed really often at the end of a tweet. People are in love with Johannesburg! And it’s about time! Our @Mentions t-shirt features some of these tweets. If you follow us, there’s a good chance you’re there! #LoveJozi
